An emotional jump into African landscapes through the Pence 1979 Campaign
The Spring Summer 2019 collection designed by Dora Zecchin draws inspiration from the paradisiacal and unspoiled African landscapes and the evocative colors of their sunsets.
Africa is a thought, an emotion full of infinite silences, where the eye perceives clear, crisp, clean tones that seem to shine more than normal. Here is an explosion of red, purple, yellow, blue and orange. The power and beauty of nature in a unique and exciting show.
The stylistic tendency is that of “a-gender” that is well suited to the contemporary man and woman who recognize themselves in Pence 1979. The mood is carefree with some mention of the colonial style with a preference for khaki and ecru gabardine, the volumes are soft and the garments refer to the safari style taste.
The protagonists are once again the fabrics, different and different treatments. We find the yarn dyed with a particular jacquard pied de poule pattern, the cottons-linen, but also the fine double canvases with armor in the tones of the ecru and the microperati that draw imperceptible stripes on a slightly iridescent base. The linen for the most extreme temperatures is irreplaceable, mixed with cotton in garment dyed versions or 100% linen for classic check patterns or striped patterns.
The Pence 1979 man loves trench coats, shirts, gilet and unstructured jackets, must-have garments for a contemporary colonial look. For the woman with sometimes androgynous features, skirts and trousers with wide lines, dresses with soft volumes and shirts with “balloon” sleeves. A Spring Summer that plays with decorations and embroidery for sweatshirts and t-shirts in Japanese jersey decorated with “party monkey’s” and “Ndebele” dolls.
Pence 1979 also follows the trend of logomania by inserting its logo on unisex t-shirts, available in six colors to be had.
In the Pence 1979 Denim capsule, the indigo canvas stands out on trousers and jackets characterized by extremely light weights. The focus is on the special denim canvases of the 5 pockets proposed in shades of orange, violet and mud.
